The former national football team caption of Togo paid a courtesy visit to the embassy of Brazil in Lome for condoling with the South American nation. The world had been stunned on 29th December 2022 when the news broke that the three-time FIFA World Cup winner has passed away.
Pele has been regarded as the greatest player of all time. The former striker passed away at Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein hospital after a battle with cancer. According to reports, Pele is the top scorer of Brazil with 77 goals in 92 matches. He became an icon of the game after he won World Cup in 1958 as a 17-year-old netting two twice in the final for defeating Sweden, the hosts.
His official Twitter account listed that love and inspiration marked the journey of King Pele. The entire world keeps paying tribute to the late superstar and took time to visit the embassy of Brazil. Sharing a photo of himself he signed a condolence register with a photo of the late footballer placed on the table, he wrote that he signed the Brazilian Embassy, the book condolences after the death of King Pele.
When Pele passed away, the soccer legend received global mourning and tributes and also a national funeral at Santos Stadium where he played most of his career. The legendary player had married thrice and had several affairs that resulted from him fathering 7 children, though he acknowledged just 6 of those children.
But the only child he had he denied throughout his life and died years ago.
