Emmanuel Adebayor is currently earning around €170,000 each week and this is an extremely high salary for a player who is serving as a back-up option in Tottenham Hotspur.
So far, in this season Adebayor has made 12 Premier League appearances and has scored twice.
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly believed to be ready to sell the Togolese striker in the summer transfer window which opens up when this season reaches it’s end.
The chairman of Tottenham, Daniel Levy is even prepared to release Adebayor on a free transfer as the businessman is seriously interested in removing Adebayor from the club in order to cut down the wages bill which is substantially high.
The 31 year old forward has already expressed his desire to join Real Madrid or Chelsea but it remains uncertain if any of those clubs are willing to match his current salary and pay him that same amount of money for someone who is going to be spending the majority of his career on the sidelines.
For Tottenham Hotspur it doesn’t really matter which club signs Adebayor as the Premier League club just wants to offload him from the English squad as quick as possible and not have to pay the player any further than this season.
Harry Kane’s amazing form has not helped Adebayor as the young Englishman is at the spotlight of Tottenham Hotspur and he has every right to be as Kane has managed to score 20 league goals in 30 appearances, Kane is being viewed as the future of the club and this leaves Adebayor with no place in the starting lineup of Mauricio Pochettino.
